Welcome to Warbird Wednesday! Today is part 2 of our series at Edwards Air Force Base with the prestigious United States Air Force Test Pilot School. Joining us is Major Shawn “Demon” Stephens.

 

Demon’s career path began with an interest in aircraft, influenced by parents who served in the Air Force. He pursued aerospace engineering at Embry Riddle after high school and joined the Air Force through ROTC. Demon’s assignment at Edwards Air Force Base led him to become a flight test engineer, specializing in flight control and flying qualities testing. He also discusses the x62a, an experimental research aircraft used for testing advanced flight control technology and its unique capabilities in real-time parameter adjustments during flight tests.
