Welcome to Warbird Wednesday! Today, we’re visiting one of the best fighters that you probably have never heard of, the Macchi 202 Folgore. The Folgore flew for the Royal Italian Air force in WWII and its name meant thunderbolt in Italian. This aircraft fought in Malta, North Africa, and on the eastern front, where it became is known for its impressive kill/loss ratio.
