Throughout World War II, the Mariner served essential roles in anti-submarine search, patrol, and search & rescue missions, equipped with advanced radar and magnetometers. Its remarkable service spanned until 1964, with production occurring from 1940 to 1949, resulting in a total of 1,366 units built. The aircraft played a pivotal role in safeguarding convoys during the Battle of the Atlantic, successfully sinking 10 German submarines. Post-war, it found new life in various Navies, being utilized for diverse purposes, including troop and cargo transport.
