Welcome to Warbird Wednesday! Today we’re visiting an exotic interceptor, the Republic XF-103 Thunderwarrior. This was an experimental aircraft that was only built as a prototype. It was designed to go after Soviet bombers and could reach speeds above Mach 3. The XF-103 had a unique propulsion system that included two engines, a standard turbojet engine that worked in tandem with a ramjet engine.
