National Vietnam Veterans Day is annually observed on March 29. It commemorates the hardships suffered and sacrifices made by nine million Americans during the Vietnam War. However, the holiday does not only honor the former soldiers but also their families who supported them during and after the war.
This year March 29 falls on a Saturday – marking fifty years since the last American personnel withdrew from Vietnam.
CW4 Randy Zahn, an AH-1H Cobra Gunship Pilot and current Museum Docent, will be the featured speaker. Randy is the author of “Snake Pilot” and his book signing will follow the Program.
Miss California, Susan Anton, will discuss her 1970 Miss America USO Tour experience in Vietnam.
