In 1942, artist Natale Bellantoni embarked with the US Navy Seabees on a wartime journey that would take him across the South Pacific and inspire him to produce an amazing collection of watercolor art, sketches, and photographs recently featured in the book The Battalion Artist, edited by his daughter, Nancy Bellantoni, and written by Janice Blake. Join us for a discussion with Nancy and Janice, as well as Jean Cannon, who recently curated a gallery show of Bellantoni’s art at the Hoover Library & Archives at Stanford University that will run until August 2025.
