This presentation starts with a brief history of the Caroline islands including the Japanese who acquired the islands at the end of WWI. During WWII over a two-day period US carrier planes sank over 40 ships at anchor in Truk Lagoon and destroyed over 100 aircraft on the ground and in the air. In the 1960’s when Jacques Cousteau arrived and explored the sunken wrecks, he put Truk on the map as having the best wreck diving in the world. See what still lies beneath the surface of this storied atoll in the central Pacific.
