Divided on D-Day Part III: “The Bumpy Road to Germany”

On August 1, 1944, General Patton’s Third Army was finally unleashed. In a spectacular two-week breakout, his forces seized most of Brittany and made a lightning advance eastward toward Le Mans. In Part III of “Divided on D-Day,” historian Dr. Ed Gordon will recount how this remarkable advance was followed by a bloody fall and winter stalemate.
