Welcome to Warbird Wednesday! Today we’re visiting an experimental heavy bomber, the Northrop XB-35. The flying wing’s development started in 1941 with the purpose to go very fast and high while carrying a payload. Although only prototypes were built of the XB-35, its efficient wing design spawned various airplanes designs including the RQ-170 Sentinel and the rumored SR-72 stealth aircraft.
