Welcome back to the Palm Springs Air Museum! 

The Palm Springs Air Museum is now open to the public on a limited basis as an open-air museum. All hangar doors will remain open during business hours.

We are committed to the safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers, as we welcome you back.

The following safety protocols have been added to ensure a safe reopening.

 

Museum Guests

  • Masks will be required to be worn by all persons in public areas (staff, volunteers & guests)
  • Masks will be available to all persons entering the facility
  • Temperatures to be taken of all guests entering the facility
  • All guests entering the facility will be asked a brief series of health related questions to ensure they are healthy and have not been exposed to the covid virus
  • Visitor group size is limited to six or fewer
  • People from the same household are not required to social distance
  • 6’ social distancing rule to be in effect and clearly marked in all areas that require queuing such as admissions, gift shop, and restrooms

 

PSAM Facility

  • Separate entrances and exits have been established
  • All hangar doors will remain open during business hours to maintain an open-air environment
  • The entire facility will be professionally disinfected on a weekly basis
  • Limited occupancy will be restricted to 5 guests per 1,000 square feet at any given time. (1 out/1 in rule to be monitored by museum personnel)
  • Maximum occupancy is limited to the facility of 375 people
  • Restrooms will be sanitized every 2 hours during business hours
  • Hand sanitization stations are located in hangars and will be inspected twice daily to ensure adequate supply
  • All enclosed spaces/exhibits to remain closed to the public (Library, Children’s Area, Aircraft Cockpit sections, etc)
  • All touch screen/interactive displays to remain off or in passive mode requiring no tactile interaction
  • Areas where interaction with the public is mandatory such as admissions and the gift shop will have protective barriers in place
  • Signage encouraging social distancing, wearing of protective masks and directing to exit points will be located throughout the facility

 

Café Area

  • Victory Canteen to be open under all governmental guidelines for restaurants

 

Our Staff

  • Masks will be required to be worn by all staff in public areas
  • Masks will be available to all persons entering the facility
  • All personnel entering the facility will have performed CDC approved home self-screening prior to coming to work (training to be provided prior to opening and ongoing )
  • Anyone experiencing any of the CDC defined COVID symptoms will remain at home, contact their physician and advise their immediate supervisor of their status
  • Anyone experiencing any of the CDC defined symptoms while at the Museum will leave immediately and seek medical care
  • Anyone experiencing any of the CDC defined symptoms will remain away from the Museum until such time as they have been medically cleared to return and have written documentation of such
  • Anyone who tests positive for the COVID-19 Virus will advise their immediate supervisor of their status as soon as possible
  • All staff to observe 6’ social distancing practices with guests and all other personnel
  • Gloves will be worn by any personnel dealing directly with the public, handling monetary transactions and/or merchandise sales
  • Staff with “at-risk” conditions will be asked to remain at home
  • Regular handwashing and sanitization to be required for all personnel
