Conduct tours inside the B-17 heavy bomber. Bring an Understanding of WW II history. If you have an interest in the heavy bombers and their role in W.W. II and enjoy getting up close and personal with a single aircraft, you will enjoy volunteering on the B-17.
Be a Docent in the European Hangar. If you have an interest in Army Air Corps fighters, bombers and trainers and an understanding of WW II history in the European Theater you will enjoy volunteering in the European Hangar.
Serve as Docent in the Pacific Hangar. If you have an interest in Naval Aircraft, ships and WW II history in the Pacific Theater you will enjoy volunteering in the Pacific Hangar.
Work in the Museum gift shop. Interact with patrons as they enter the Museum. Assist with inventory control. Answer general questions about the Museum. Operate a point-of-sale system.
Perform the duties normally associated with the operation of a first-class aviation library. Assist patrons in the operation of flight simulators.
Restoration Crew is responsible for restoring and maintaining static aircraft, building displays, and upkeep of displays throughout the museum. “If you are interested in being part of the best department in the museum, come talk to us.” Work days and hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 7:00 to 12:00, during the “season”.
The Kiosk answers visitors’ questions, gives directions and offers advice on how visitors can best use their time effectively. If you are a friendly people-person this might be for you.
