Upcoming Traveling Airshows
Since opening in 1996, the Palm Springs Air Museum has maintained its status as a museum that flies its aircraft. Hearing the engines and seeing these amazing Warbirds in the sky reinforces the connection between the machines and people who sacrificed so much to make them fill their role in history’s greatest conflicts.
Now you, too, can book a ride in our vintage Warbird C-47 Skytrain and in our P-51D Mustang at airshows we are participating at!

C-47 Skytrain – flight experience gate to gate is one hour.
Our C-47 Skytrain served in the armed forces of a number of countries throughout its 58 year military career. Not until it was acquired by the Museum in 2003, did she receive a civilian registration. Now this aircraft continues to delight Museum visitors as a flyable exhibit. “What’s Up Doc?”, painted complete with original nose art and invasion stripes is a flying tribute to the men and machines used to kick off the June, 6 1944 D-Day invasion.
$225 per seat for a one hour flight experience, gate to gate*, some restrictions apply requires 5 passengers per flight.
Fly in the P-51 Mustang that competed in the Reno Air Races.
Listen to the famous roar of the Merlin engine.
No warbird evokes the memories of fighter aircraft in combat like the P-51 MUSTANG. Serving in WW2 & Korea as a bomber escort and tactical fighter-bomber, this aircraft has returned to the skies!
Being one of the most iconic fighter aircraft of WWII, the P-51 Mustang saw service in virtually every theater of the war. It was however the famed Tuskegee Airmen of the 332 Fighter Group that added their special touch by turning a select group of aircraft into the now famed “Red Tails”. Our P-51D “Bunny” pays homage to those brave men by giving its modern day riders the look, feel, sound and smell of those days of dogfights in the skies of Europe. Bunny is dedicated to famed Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Bob Friend.
$1,895 for a one hour gate to gate flight experience, some physical restrictions apply* Includes P-51 flight, poster, t-shirt and cap.
