Memorial Day Flower Drop & Air Fair

May 29 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

This is a very special day at the Palm Springs Air Museum. This year’s 1 PM Ceremony commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid.  2nd Lt. Aden Jones was the bombardier on the 3rd plane out of 16 that participated in the Doolittle Raid. Jones passed away before the US Government awarded Congressional Gold Medals to the Doolittle Raiders in April of 2015. We are honored to be able to present the Congressional Gold Medal to Lt. Jones’ sister, Janet Davidson. She is a Gold Star Wife and Palm Springs resident.

The Flower Drop Ceremony is dedicated to all of our fallen comrades who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. In their honor, we highlight the service with a fly-by and flower drop of over 3,000 red and white carnations from a B-25 Mitchell Bomber. The entire day is filled with flight exhibitions, Heatwave Band, Totally Twisted Balloons and Harpo the Clown, and this year’s flying aircraft are the P-51, P-63, T-28, the Bearcat and the B-25. Beer Garden for adults 21 and over.
